Matt Prewett - Head Coach

Matt Prewett took over coaching duties for the University of Texas Men's Club Soccer Program in the Fall of 2004. During his tenure he has led the Men's 1st Team to four conference championships (2006, 2007, 2008 & 2010) and two conference runner-ups (2005 & 2009), four Region IV South Tournament Championships, four appearances in the Round of 16 at the NIRSA National Tournament, one Consolation Bracket Championship (2011) and one appearance in the Final Four (2010). Now in his eighth season at the helm, Coach Prewett is excited about the progress of the program and the possibilities that lie ahead in the 2010-11. 

A native of Austin, Texas and a graduate of Westwood High here in Austin, Coach Prewett grew up playing youth soccer with the Capital Soccer Club. He attended Rhodes College in Memphis, TN where he earned four varsity letters, captaining the team his junior and senior seasons.   During that time he earned All-Conference Honors three times, All-Region honors twice, was voted MVP of the team his junior season, and was named an Academic All-America his senior season. After attaining his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, he remained at Rhodes and earned a Masters of Science in Accounting, and while doing so served as Assistant Coach of the Rhodes Men's Soccer team.

In addition to his involvement with the UT Men's Club Soccer program, Prewett also volunteers with the Austin Men's Soccer Association, the adult amateur soccer league in Austin, in which he began serving as President in May of 2010. Additionally, Coach Prewett manages and plays for Austin Thunder, a top-level men's amateur club team that has teams in the Premier and Over-30 Premier Divisions of AMSA.

As all of the coaching positions within the club are part-time, Coach Prewett earns a living as a Real Estate Broker-Associate with Realty Austin, specializing in residential and investment sales and leasing. He currently holds a Texas Real Estate Broker's License and a USSF 'B' National coaching license. Grant Stettner - Head Coach, 2nd Team

Grant Stettner joined the University of Texas Men's Club Soccer Program as a player on the second team in the Fall of 2002 during his freshman year. After playing a season as sweeper he moved to the first team playing outside back for two more years until he was sidelined due to reoccuring injuries. Coming back in 2008 as an assistant coach for the second team, Grant was excited to be joining the longhorns again on the field. This will be his second year as head coach of second team.

Growing up here in Austin, Texas and playing for various select teams, Grant graduated from Westlake High School where he played on the Varisty team for years. He has continued to contribute to the youth soccer scene here in Austin by coaching for the Westlake Youth Soccer Association the past 4 years. Grant has also now joined the Lonestar Soccer Club coaching staff.

Grant has finished his Kinesiology degree at the University of Texas and is currently working on finishing a Spanish degree. He has worked at Austin Country Club for 11 years in the Sportscenter and is the Head Swim Coach in the summers.
